Vision Free HD Radio
An elegant HD radio with wood construction and excellent sound quality; all the buttons and settings speak! From Dice Electronics this beautiful HD radio is designed to be accessible and easy to use for people who are blind or have low vision. Voice prompts and spoken feedback make operating the Vision Free HD Radio simple and intuitive. Each button press is followed by a spoken queue to guide you through the things you do with a clock radio, like station browsing or setting up the alarm clock. All buttons and knobs are arranged and spaced apart with ease of use in mind. This radio can receive regular stations, HD stations with noise-free near CD quality sound, and even be used to tune into a Radio Reading Service for the blind if one is offered in your area. If you can use a radio, you can use this one. It works just like a regular radio. You can turn a dial that has soft clicks or use the 6 pre-sets to tune in stations. The radio announces each station and tells you if it acquires an HD digital signal, and you can sure hear the upgrade in sound quality when it does. The HD signal arrives on the same frequency as the station's AM or FM analog signal so the HD radio works as you would expect. If you're looking for a very special gift for someone you know who is visually impaired, this is a wonderful choice.

Features

Audio Feedback
Voice announcements are made to guide the user through each button press. Radio station information, time, and settings are all assisted by spoken queues.

RRS Capable

Register the radio's serial number with a local Radio Reading Service provider to access the RRS content.

Optional Speaker

Add the optional add-on speaker for room filling stereo sound. We highly recommend this for people who love fine sound.

Alarm Clock

Announces the current time on wake and begins to play preset radio station.

Access to Multicast Channels

Access more content with HD Radio's Multicast channels. These are HD2 and HD3 channels found on HD Radio frequencies.

Auxiliary Audio Input

Connect any external audio device including iPod, MP3 players, CD Players, and digital book players.

Excellent Sound Quality

The large 4 inch driver and solid construction of the acoustic wood structure enhance the listening experience.

HD Radio Receiver

Listen to local AM/FM programming digitally in near CD quality sound. Thousands of stations across the country are transmitting using HD Radio technology. In fact, radio stations that broadcast in HD often offer 2 different program line-ups at the same time. In our area, we found one classic rock station that played smooth jazz on its second HD channel. With an HD radio you can easily discover and enjoy these second HD channels you've never heard on the radio before. No monthly fees or subscriptions.

A few words from Blinksoft...
Like everything we carry, we tested and approved this radio ourselves before we offered it to you. As always our toll free support line is available to all our customers during business hours.
If you are in a low reception area like we are, we recommend you try out the optional FM wire antenna that comes in the box. We suddenly received vastly more stations with choices we enjoyed once we connected the wire.
For your convenience we're including with every package a CD of the Audio Tutorial for this radio. This excellent Audio Tutorial has short sections of clearly spoken instructions of how to use each feature. For us, this tutorial was the best tool for understanding the radio when we tested it. The tutorial is also available below, but we know not every radio listener uses a computer so we also provide it with the radio on a CD that's easy to use.
